Why This Recipe Works

It's quick and easy! I don't know about you, but I just love a meal I can get together in less than 30 minutes--especially one that doesn't require cooking.

It's made with easy to find supermarket and pantry ingredients. Rotisserie chicken can be a life saver when you need a meal quick! It's such a versatile ingredient. You may already have the rest of the ingredients in your panty or refrigerator.

It's great as a make-a-head meal. This is one of those recipes that seems to taste better a few hours after it's made. Prep anytime, leave in the refrigerator until ready to eat.

It's an American classic! Perfect for picnics, long road trips, packed lunches, as a sandwich or with a green salad. Just grab a bag of your favorite chips and a pickle and enjoy this deli classic that is well known and loved in the USA!

Expert Tips

It's easier to pull the meat from the bones when the chicken is still warm. If time permits, pull the meat from the chicken as soon as you get home from the grocery store. Store meat in a ziptop bag or covered container until ready to use.

Rotisserie chickens can vary in size so you may want to adjust the amount of mayo/sour cream accordingly. Most will give you about 4 cups of meat.

You don't have to keep it simple! While this recipe is about as simple as it gets, you certainly don't have to limit yourself to this basic recipe. Add grapes, chopped pecans, raisins or apples if that's more your style.

Always store chicken salad in the refrigerator or cooler. It will keep for 2-3 days.
