Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9x13 inch casserole or baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
In a large bowl combine cooked chicken, salsa verde, softened cream cheese, cream of chicken soup, and taco seasoning. Mix well to combine. To soften cream cheese quickly, microwave it for about one minute.
Crush Dorito chips (I lightly smashed them in the bag before I opened it). Layer half of the crushed Doritos in the bottom of the dish.
Layer half the chicken mixture over the Doritos, then spread the sour cream over the chicken. Sprinkle one cup of cheese over the sour cream then add the rest of the crushed Doritos. Finish by layering the remaining cup of cheese.
Bake in a preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and sides of the Doritos casserole are bubbling hot. Serve with favorite toppings.
Notes
Store any leftover casserole in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat, covered, in the microwave on reduced power until hot for best results.
If you don't have taco seasoning on hand, try a combination of chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, dried oregano, and a pinch of cayenne pepper.
